Order Of Owls - Speak Up

Australia is stacked with incredible alt-rock/metal acts. Melbourne's Order Of Owls is the latest group to throw their hat into this already crowded ring with their new single, Speak Up.

Speak Up is the band's second single release & dissects the daily struggle that depression inflicts on sufferers. As the band explained, each & every member of Order Of Owls has endured this battle in one form or another. So they can explore the subject matter with clarity, sensitivity, personal experiences & proven remedies.

Lyrically the single doesn't try to hide its messaging in vagary or convoluted allegories. It's clear, concise & perhaps most shockingly, upbeat & positive. Rather than leaning into the darkness & sadness that alt-rock/metal typically would with this subject matter Order Of Owls instead looks to the bright points. This gives the single a unique & highly relatable perspective which proves there is a light at the end of the tunnel, even if the light may only seem like a pin-prick at this very moment.

Sonically, Order Of Owls takes inspiration from the lies of Alice In Chains, Pearl Jam & Trivium but with a uniquely Australian spin.

Overall, Speak Up is a thrilling new release Stylistically for Oder Of Owls. If they can continue to explore this versatility into the future they'll quickly be rising through the ranks. Before we know it the Owls will rule the roost.
