Semantics - Paint Me Blue

The debut album from Brisbane's indie punk rockers Semantics is melancholic but a vitally important first foray into the Australian music scene.

With a signature sound that seamlessly blends punk rock aesthetics with indie charm & deeply moving lyricism Semantics are a band you'll want to keep an eye on. Given the title of their debut album, Paint Me Blue, it's clear to see that the group were unafraid to have hard conversations & tackle difficult topics with this record. Throughout the album's 10 track offering Semantics explore themes of longing, loneliness, separation, depression, domestic abuse and confusion - all with an air of hope that this record will allow their listeners to open up about their own concerns to those close with them.

Whilst this album is deeply melancholic it is absolutely one which deserves to be listened to in its entirety. Although it tackles difficult topics Semantics have done a fantastic job of presenting Paint Me Blue in a way which is enthralling, entertaining & incredibly easy to connect with.

If you are fan of bands such as Luca Brasi, Violent Soho or City & Colour you will find your next favourite band in Semantics.

This band is going to be a huge in the coming years. Don't miss your chance to get on board the hype train early!
