The Butterfly Effect - IV

The butterfly effect is a chaos theory which postulates that a minuscule localised change in a complex system can have large effects elsewhere. After 14 years this name couldn't be more fitting for Brisbane rockers The Butterfly Effect as the band has endured a raft of minor changes which ultimately butterflied out into major developments & saw the band break up for a length of time. Now though after 14 years The Butterfly Effect return with their aptly titled fourth album, IV.

Across this new 10 track album former fans of The Butterfly Effect will hear an all too familiar soundscape filled with charging guitars, driving rock drum lines & hypnotising, emotive lyricism. IV takes the listener along for a reflective journey though the band's past 14 years as Clint Boge's vocal touch upon themes of love and hate, gains and losses, highs and lows, life and death and beyond.

Stand out tracks on IV include Visiting Hours, So Tired & The Other Side.

IV is a welcome return from The Butterfly Effect that die hard fans will adore. That's not to say the band has stagnated in a sound they were at the forefront of 14 years ago - new listeners will find plenty to enjoy in this album too.
