Drifting between house, techno, R&B and the occasional jazz influence, Tropics Of Love demonstrates Joakim’s high level of production by layering many elements so cleanly and precisely.

The LP is split into three ‘chapters’ each with their own headline track to signal a change in tempo, style or tone. Chapter one is warm and upbeat with a combination of synths, Latin-inspired beats and strong vocal performances.

Chapter two then moves into a darker setting featuring harder hitting synths and broken robotic samples.

Chapter three rounds out the LP with warm, soothing, almost sensual sounds.
