Nick Waterhouse – Holly

Originally published on Alt Media

In just over half an hour Waterhouse’s 10 short, sharp songs on album Holly take the listener on a time warping journey back to the ‘50s and ‘60s.

With tunes packed full of funky beats, guitar plucking, reverb and a generous helping of horns and organs, the tracks on this album are clearly influenced by a time dominated by the likes of Roy Orbison and Ray Charles.

Standout tracks are Holly and Dead Room, which are both incredibly catchy and dance inducing.

By keeping the album so short Waterhouse leaves the listener wanting more and pressing repeat.
