Storm The Sky – Permanence

Originally published on Alt Media

Young Melbourne metalcore six-piece arrive onto the scene with a crash with their deut full length album Permanence.

Behind the flawless production the band has an innate talent for quality songwriting however at times can be a little to reticent to fall back on metalcore tropes often leaving the album sounding stale rather than fresh.

In the second half the band slows things down to focus on a more melodic style with fantastic results and is a path that begs to be explored more in future releases. In particular Only One introduces the seldom heard female vocal to metalcore which is refreshing and a clear standout.
