Cloves - XIII

Originally published on Alt Media

The soul and voice of Cloves is certainly much more mature and impactful than her 19-year-old body would suggest. The London-via-Melbourne songstress’ debut four track EP eschews all of the bells and whistles to simply allow her powerful voice to do the heavy lifting and mesmerise the listener.

Musically, the records employs simple acoustic guitar, soft piano and some subtle haunting percussion to create a layered silky offering that glides smoothly into your ears and heart.

Infusing soul and jazz influences, this a wonderful first outing for the youngster and I cannot wait to hear more.
