Totally Unicorn – Dream Life

Originally published on Alt Media

Sydney’s Totally Unicorn are a truly hectic, off-beat group. They may not be to everyones tastes, and their debut album Dream Life is the ultimate representation of this fact.

Transitioning sporadically from metalcore to punk, the listener is constantly left on edge waiting for the next unpredictable pace or melody change.

Frontman Drew Gardner’s throat-shredding screaming vocals are incredibly well done and catchy, even if you cannot always make out what the lyric actually is.

Again this record will certainly not be for everyone but if you’re after something totally unique, different and energising, this is for you.

★★1/2
