Caravana Sun – Guerrilla Club
Originally published on Alt Media
Our frantic, modern, hustle and bustle society has slowly seeped its way into every pore of creative expression as we know it. Particularly with music, it is no longer about creating albums but rather that one hit single. Thankfully though Sydney four-piece Caravana Sun have rebelled against that movement with their latest release.
Guerrilla Club is truly an album that requires you to listen from front to back to truly grasp the full visceral experience that this piece of art encapsulates. Drawing inspiration from Australia’s majestic countryside and landscapes along with out rich indigenous culture, Caravana Sun have strayed from their tried and true sound.
With this release the band has pushed into a more sonic-soundscape-focused medium which encapsulates pop, soul and soft-rock elements. Occasionally they will slip back into their energetic surf-rock roots, with tracks 'Days Like These' and 'Unknown Warrior' the prime examples which will inspire spontaneous dancing.
