Killer Queen Black
Killer Queen Black brings fast-paced tactical multiplayer arcade fun to the Nintendo Switch.
First thing first, Killer Queen Black is designed as a multiplayer game. So if you aren’t planning to play locally with friends or take part in online play there is little to offer outside of a brief tutorial mode. That aside though Killer Queen Black is an incredibly fun game which will have you frantically looking for the best way to win.
Unlike many other multiplayer offerings, there are actually three ways to win a 4v4 Killer Queen Black match.
Firstly you can simply act as a worker bee and be the first team to collect the required amount of berries to fill your base, this is known as an economic victory.
Alternatively, you could impose your might and go for a military victory by killing the opposing queen bee three times. Killing the queen can initially only be done by the opposing bee, but thanks to a number of gates scattered around the levels the workers join the fight. However, in doing so those workers forfeit the right to carry berries and thus limit your roads to victory.
Finally, the most degrading way to defeat your opponent is by using a worker bee to ride the frustratingly slow snail across the map to your finish line. Whilst riding the snail a worker is incredibly vulnerable and will, therefore, need protection from the queen or other upgraded allies.
Killer Queen Black is one of those multiplayer games which is very easy to learn but tough to master. The gameplay is fun, frenetic and tactical. You’ll often see yourself rapidly switching back and forth between strategies as different scenarios play out.
