The End Of The Storm
It feels like only yesterday that Liverpool finally ended their 30 year EPL drought. A drought which at times felt like it was cursed to never end, with this most recent season being no different. However end it did. Now Liverpool fans are being given the chance to relive the glory with the documentary The End Of The Storm which recaps the 2019-20 EPL season.
The End Of The Storm is a rather superficial film which relys heavily on highlights, interviews with manager Juergen Klopp, Captain Jordan Henderson and the core of the Liverpool defence, Virgil Van Dijk. These elements are then bolstered with emotional pieces from Liverpool fans around the globe.
The film opens strong as it recap as the history of Liverpool and their cursed campaigns of recent seasons. This then moves into the 2019-20 preseason preparations, which seemed to have a major impact on the squad, before then recapping the pivotal moments of the season. Ultimately though the most intriguing part of the film occurs towards the end when the Liverpool curse appears to rearing its ugly head again when COVID-19 sweeps the globe, and places the season in jeopardy.
Only Liverpool could have such a wide margin coming into the closing stages of a season and still have it almost slip through their fingers thanks to divine intervention.
Ultimately, The End Of The Storm is the perfect little treat for Liverpool fans but for general football fans it fails to deliver any true depth or revelatory knowledge about the preparation and tactical nous of Juergen Klopp.
