Taylor Swift Eras Tour Sydney Review

Taylor Swift, ever heard of her? Unless you call under a rock home, you would have seen the biggest show since the 2000 Olympics roll into town over the weekend. Four (yes, 4) sold-out shows at everyone’s least favourite to get-to venue Sydney’s Accor Stadium, playing host to 80,000+ Swifties draped in sequins, friendship bracelets and, of course, Travis Kelce jerseys.

After tour support, Sabrina Carpenter got the crowd going early with a bunch of TikTok hits I’m not familiar with, we didn’t have to wait long until the star attraction rose from the smoke.

The show kicked off in the Lover era to the tune of Miss Americana & The Heartbreak Prince, swiftly followed by Taylor’s mega-hit Cruel Summer. From there we entered the country era of my long-favoured album Fearless, starting with renditions of the title track Fearless, You Belong With Me, and for what was the biggest sing-a-long of the night, Love Story.

The moody Evermore era was next, followed by the energetic and thumping Reputation record, a short burst of tracks from Speak Now, followed by Red, the even moodier folklore record, the banger-filled 1989, and finishing strongly with all the big hits from Midnights.

A fan favourite tradition from The Eras Tour has been Taylor’s performance of two “surprise songs” per show, where she plays two songs she hasn’t yet performed on tour. The Swifties lucky enough to secure tickets to night 4 in Sydney were treated to an acoustic mashup of Would’ve Could’ve Should’ve & ivy, followed by a piano version of Forever & Always mixed with Maroon. Much to the crowd's delight.

Whether you’re a genre-hopping live music lover like myself or a die-hard Taylor Swift fan attending your first-ever concert, The Eras Tour truly was all it was hyped up to be and some. A historic run of shows that will have me waiting hours in an endless online ticket queue in future years hoping to catch a glimpse of greatness once again.

Taylor Swift is a superstar, and an athlete, and I won’t ever hear a bad word about her.
