Hollywood has a new pair of rising stars, & they're not afraid to make waves. Lauren & Nicole Peters, the dynamic acting duo known as The Peters Twins, have been lighting up the screen & captivating audiences with their unique blend of talent & charisma. In an exclusive interview with Pario, the twins opened up about their latest projects, the challenges of their careers, & their hopes for the future.
A Creative Journey from Childhood
Lauren & Nicole’s passion for acting ignited when they were just 9 months old. As they grew up, this passion only intensified, guiding them through various creative avenues, from sports to pageantry.
“We have a whole myriad of different interests that we love to do. We love being adventurous. We'll never say no to anything, whether it's acting, sports or academics,” explained Nicole. Lauren then added, “We've done a bunch of movies, TV shows, & commercials - both together or separately. We're also on Team Canada for the national water skiing team & we competed in Miss Universe Canada.”
Although they’ve explored a wide array of interests, acting has always remained at the heart of their journey.
The twins have faced a multitude of challenges, from balancing different projects to adapting to new roles. However, they have found joy in every opportunity to perform, regardless of the medium. "When Nicole & I are doing an acting role, we're the happiest girls in the world. It's the one thing that totally motivates us, gets us dialled in, & just gets us most excited," Lauren shared.
Twin Lies: A Thrilling Leap Forward
Their latest project, Twin Lies, is a significant milestone in their acting careers, marking their debut in leading roles. The film, a suspenseful thriller with a comedic twist, has provided the duo with a platform to showcase their versatility. "It's juicy. Like, it's really... it has an exciting storyline to it," Nicole revealed.
The plot follows a pair of twin sisters who find themselves entangled in a web of secrets & deception. "One of them is the dream daughter... she seemingly has this perfect life... but what you find out is that she’s actually an escort for high-profile individuals," Nicole explained. The twist comes when her twin sister steps into her shoes, leading to unexpected & thrilling consequences.
The experience of taking on lead roles was both challenging & exhilarating for the twins.
Lauren expressed the pair’s initial excitement & the subsequent realisation of the responsibility that entailed: "We never looked at it as daunting. It definitely was a ton of work.” Nicole then continued, “They hand us the whole script and it's like, oh you have a few scenes. The whole script is you. And you just gotta get it done.” Before Lauren then concluded, “There's really no time to be scared. You’ve just got to do it.”
Despite the pressure, the twins were confident in their abilities, especially given the film's focus on twin characters - a scenario that seemed tailor-made for them. "As soon as we read the character descriptions, we immediately felt like, okay, this role... this is ours to lose," said Lauren.
The Dream Role: Baywatch on the Horizon?
Looking ahead, the Peters Twins have their sights set on a dream role that combines their love for water sports with their passion for acting. "There's a new Baywatch reboot series coming out, I believe on Fox. And since we both obviously have done acting forever & are super into the water sports... that would be our dream," Nicole said. “Yeah, that’s definitely on our vision board, we’re trying to manifest that” added Lauren excitedly.
The idea of starring in the iconic series resonates with the twins, who have a deep connection to both acting & aquatic sports. They are eager to bring their unique energy to the screen, hoping to follow in the footsteps of fellow Canadian Pamela Anderson, who became a household name via Baywatch. "Two identical twins on Baywatch, that would 100% be our next dream role," Lauren beamed.
