Pamela, A Love Story Review

When you hear the name Pamela Anderson a few things come to mind - her multiple Playboy covers, odd and sometimes controversial relationships, & let’s not forget the infamous sex tape. Working closely with Netflix for this documentary, Pamela can show us that she’s more than just another “dumb blonde”. She’s also an animal activist, single mom, & last but not least, a hopeless romantic looking for her happy ending.

Pamela, A Love Story gives us a new look into the real Pamela Anderson. From her start as a model in Canada which helped her land the Playboy contract that started her career, to her first & most iconic marriage to Tommy Lee. She gave producers access to her diaries documenting some of the most precious moments in her love life & acting career.

I love how Pam was able to express her true emotions when it came to her life & career after the sex tape, to the struggles of trying to care for her family & protecting her sons from the negative energy she was met with in Hollywood. At the end of the day, she’s a normal woman just trying to do right by her family & wanting to be loved.

Growing up, I viewed Pamela Anderson as an inspiration, showing women everywhere that no matter what anyone says about you there’s always a way to show them up & come out on top. This documentary was done well & got me excited to read the book that coincides with it titled, Love, Pamela. If you gave the time to the Hulu special, Pam & Tommy, you should spend an hour & a half watching the actual story that Pamela would want you to know. No frills, just her in her little beach house reliving the happiest & some of the darkest moments of her career & life.
