Yann Tiersen – ∞ (Infinity)
Originally published on AltMedia
From the composer behind the soundtrack for Amélie comes this indie/electro/funk offering.
With its atmospheric, calming tones & haunting vocals this album takes listeners away to a mesmerising dream-land broken up occasionally by a fun chorus.
A Midsummer Evening and Lights are perfect examples of this slowly building the atmosphere before moving into the main uplifting sections. However, sometimes this transition can feel disjointed, or in the case of Lights the excitement of the chorus ends abruptly leaving the track feeling like it’s missing something.
Despite these few flaws this is a nice relaxing listen to clear the mind.
