Fast And Furious 7 Reaction

If you had told me in 2001 after watch the original The Fast And The Furious that one day I would leave the cinema in tears following an instalment in this franchise I probably would have laughed in your face, but that is exactly what happened after watching Fast And Furious 7.

Although over the years we have grown much closer and been drawn into the ‘family’ of the franchise I feel much of the emotion I experienced was certainly heightened given the real life events of November 2013. The film worked the sad death of actor Paul Walker into the storyline departure of Brian O’Conner extremely well, and this could very well have been a plausible ending had Walker not passed away. The closing scene of the film was such a touching tribute with the real life emotions of Vin Diesel and the rest of the cast translating through the screen, especially as they all sat on the beach watching Brian and Mia with their son.

The remainder of the film was classic action movie fare with a ample spattering of hand-to-hand combat, gun fights, car chases and explosions. Over the course of the series we have gotten more and more distant from reality with stunt sequences that require the viewer to suspend their disbelief at times. You could almost say these films have joined the ranks of other superhero films. This is not to say it is a bad film, in fact it probably makes the film even better as this is exactly what fans are after when they go to watch these films.

Overall I really enjoyed this film and will certainly give it another watch when it hits DVD shelves.
