Tijuana Panthers – Wayne Interest
Originally published on Alt Media
Over the course of the 14 tracks on Wayne Interest one is sure to resonate, whether that be one of the surf-rock, garage-punk, or southwest rock-style tracks.
This constant shifting of musical styles, however, means that the album comes across as a little chaotic and could have been improved by making tough decisions to cut songs and create a tighter, more structured final product.
The standouts are those that highlight the band’s guitar riffs and basslines, such as Dark Matter, with a deep rhythmic bass riff & crashing drum melody, and Fired, which uses the vocal performance as its main highlight accompanied by a fun, easy to dance to, guitar and drum melody.
