Over the course of the past 12-18 months social issues & the ensuing social movements have continued to bubble to the surface. Now Melbourne's Benedict has provided the anthem to accompany these moments in history.

In the new song Wake Up Benedict digs into everything from government issues, wars, COVID-19, Black Lives Matter and injustices for the LGBTQI community. Sonically the song is evocative of Massive Attack & David Bowie thanks to its use of synth & strings underneath Benedict's soft yet enthralling vocals.

Accompanying the music is an equally captivating music video. The video for Wake Up blends archival footage with footage of Benedict & a range of dancers, each with striking makeup/costuming. Be forewarned of a strobe effect used throughout the video.

Wake Up provides a much needed musical score for the current times. However, it may fall slightly short of anthem status as it feels like Benedict was slightly holding back vocally. Had Benedict gone all out vocally this track would be undeniable.
