Dave The Diver

Move over Scuba Steve, there's a new swimmer fighting to protect the ocean & his name is Dave The Diver.

Developed by Mintrocket, an internal studio at Nexon, Dave The Diver is a unique game in that it blends two genres in such an unusual & unexpected fashion. Yet somehow it all works seamlessly together. On one hand, Dave The Diver is a roguelike spearfishing adventure game. Then on the flip side, the game is a sushi restaurant management sim. From the outside, these 2 distinct genres shouldn't work well together, but just like the sushi the player is tasked with creating & serving sometimes the strangest combinations prove to be the most popular.

Diving a little deeper, pun intended, into each aspect of Dave The Diver players will be served up a series of challenges that will play out both below the surface of the ocean & atop it at the sushi bar.

On the roguelike side of the game, no two dives will be the same as players control the portly Dave. During his deep-sea diving missions armed with a spear gun players will have various goals in mind. Whether that be collecting supplies for the restaurant or solving the mystery of an environment that has fish specials from all around the globe, & some unexpected specials as well. These diving missions can be short bursts with clear motivations in mind or if you manage your air supplies well they can become lengthy feats of endurance.

Once the ice bucket is filled with fish & a plethora of seafood ingredients it's time to head to the sushi bar & bring it all together into delectable delights. Although Dave isn't a culinary genius himself he knows what tastes good & how to keep customers happy. So during this portion of the game players will control Dave as he acts as the waiter serving up drinks, plates of sushi, cleans up, grates wasabi & generally gives the customers a wonderful experience. Players will also need to manage resources & staff to complete challenges & meet a growing clientele's expectations.

The addictive gameplay loop of Dave The Diver is right at home on the Nintendo Switch. This is a game that you can easily sink hours into as you play along on the couch while watching your favourite sport or trash TV show. Players may even learn some beautiful lessons about conservation & protecting the ocean along the way.
