Over the course of a career in professional wrestling, injuries are almost guaranteed. Unfortunately for local talent, Frankie B all of her injuries came before even stepping foot inside the ring for a debut match.

Speaking with Pario during lockdown Frankie spoke about the mental & emotional challenges she had to overcome whilst sidelined through injury.

Since beginning training Frankie has persevered through a number of "niggling injuries", but in 2017 she suffered a catastrophic injury that placed her on the sidelines for a number of months. During a practice match, Frankie simultaneously tore 3 ligaments & broke her ankle in 3 places.

"There was a bit of a miscommunication & I fell on my ankle with my entire body weight coming down on it," Frankie explained.

Despite the significant damage, Frankie told Pario that she completed the match & shockingly didn't see a doctor about the injury until 4 days later. After seeing the doctor Frankie learned that she would require surgery on her ankle to repair the damage, which devastatingly meant she would be out of action for a significant amount of time.

"I can't lie, it was so hard watching the people that were there when I first started doing tremendous things whilst I couldn't do anything," Frankie said. "I simply had to put my big girl pants on, focus on getting healthy & try to use my peers as motivation."

Luckily for Frankie, she had an incredible support network both at home & in PWA.

"All of the coaches, especially Madison Eagles, were super supportive. Particularly in regards to encouraging me to take my time to get back rather than rush back, because I was very much in a rush to get healed & start training again."

There was however a silver lining to Frankie's injury. During this time she was able to explore a role in wrestling that she never envisioned. Frankie is now PWA's go-to backstage interviewer & host of their pre-shows.

"I love it. It's so fun, but it's something that I never thought I would do because it's a bit out of my comfort zone," Frankie said excitedly. "I get to work with everyone on the roster which is fantastic & it also exposes me in a different light."

Given that she has now excelled in this role Frankie says her aspirations to become an in-ring competitor have become a little "grey." However, Frankie still had some pointed words for one particular PWA roster member given their recent encounters.

"It's a tricky situation but if & when I can get something from the situation between Shazza [McKenzie] & me then she better watch her back."
