Seetali - Walked Away

It's not every day that a song comes along & completely takes you by surprise. Walked Away by Melbourne producer Seetali did exactly that this week when hit play.

Of course, you should never judge a book, or in this case a song, by its cover but we were expecting a folky number when we were first greeted by Walked Away. The opening few seconds of Walked Away lulls the listener into thinking this is what the song is it. However, it soon kicks into a driving indie electro-pop track with dramatic percussion & melodies.

It's this unexpected contrast & the dichotomy between the underlying music & Seetali's entrancing vocals that make Walked Away so special.

On that front, the lyricism within this song is particularly moving & relatable for everyone. Walked Away explores the feelings everybody has following a breakup. Ultimately with time & hindsight, we all realise we did the right thing, & perhaps should have done it sooner.

Walked Away is a song that could easily sit on playlists alongside Australian pop mega-stars such as Amy Shark or Wafia.
