Talking Points From WWE This Week
Having finally got a chance to sit down for a few minutes this weekend I thought I would use the time discuss the main points I took from watching Raw and gracing the Smack down results this week.
For me there were three main talking points coming out of this weeks programing and they were; the two Money in The Bank (MITB) announced, further developments in the CM Punk Paul Hey man tensions and the continued rise of Daniel Bryan.
The WWE championship MITB match participants are; CM Punk, Christian, RVD, Randy Orton, Daniel Bryan, Kane & Sheamus. This match will definitely be entertaining with the talent assembled. In terms of a winner I’ve narrowed my tips down to two people, Bryan and RVD. With the momentum Bryan has been gaining recently, which I will talk about further in a moment, I could see this being the icing on the cake in this story line. However with the promotion behind the return of RVD I could see him chasing an upset leading to a fued with Bryan. The other thing I am predicting for this match is for a Paul Heyman guy to interfere and cost Punk.
The World championship MITB match is built more around young upcoming talent; Wade Barrett, Cody Rhodes, Damian Sandow, Dean Ambrose, Fandango, Jack Swagger and Antonio Cesaro. This match for me is even harder to predict, so I’m just going to go with who I’d like to see win and that’s Cesaro or Barrett. Although I can also picture a Dean Ambrose victory after assistance from Seth Rollins & Roman Reigns, given the no disqualification rules of the match.
The next big point I took from Raw this week was the Continued tension developing between punk & Heyman, which many sites are predicting will lead to a Summer slam bout between Punk & Lesnar. This is a great way to develop this match without burning through Lesnar’s limited dates, as Punk can have verbal batlles with Heyman for a few weeks and then have battle through Curtis Axel before finally facing Heyman’s other huge client.
Last but most certainly not least is the continued rise of Daniel Bryan. Over the last 2-3 months Bryan has been proving just how good talented he is within the ring and has gotten over with the audience once again based on this phenomenal ring work. The three matches between him and Orton in the last fortnight have been amazing and could easily have been on any PPV rather than free TV without anybody complaining. As I said earlier I would love to see this lead to a Bryan MITB win with him then giving Dena notice of when he want a title match in order to prove once and for all that he is not the weak link.
I look forward to hearing others thoughts on these points and any others people took from the shows this week in the comments below or via Twitter @Appsy_JAM
Thanks for reading.
