The Call
This weekend I watched one of WWE Studios latest releases ‘The Call’ starring Halle Berry & Abigail Breslin.
The movie centres on the kidnap of Breslin’s character and the subsequent search coordinated by the 911 operator (Berry).
With this being a WWE Studios production I wasn’t exactly going in with high hopes, especially after some of their more recent releases (i.e. Knucklehead and The Chaperone).
I was however pleasantly surprised and actually found myself really enjoying this movie and getting sucked into the suspense/thriller story.
Also for a movie that largely takes place in only two locations, the 911 call centre and the trunk of a car, the acting really made this movie enjoyable and made it easy to empathise with the characters.
My biggest gripe with the movie was when Berry’s character left the call centre & began her own investigation, it seemed a little far-fetched and was asking me to suspend belief too much.
In conclusion I give this movie 3.5 out of 5 and recommend it if your looking for a decent thriller for a lazy Sunday afternoon movie.
I will be back tomorrow with the story of my weekend attending Indy wrestling in Canberra and a review of the ICW show I saw.
